ಕರ್ತನು ಮತ್ತೆ ಮೂರನೇ ಸಾರಿ--ಸಮುವೇಲನೇ ಎಂದು ಕರೆದನು. ಅವನು ಎದ್ದು ಏಲಿಯ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಹೋಗಿ--ಇಗೋ, ಇದ್ದೇನೆ; ನೀನು ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಕರೆದಿಯಲ್ಲಾ ಅಂದನು. ಆಗ ಕರ್ತನು ಹುಡುಗನನ್ನು ಕರೆಯುತ್ತಾನೆಂದು ಏಲಿಯು ಗ್ರಹಿಸಿಕೊಂಡನು.
