అప్పుడు ఇశ్రాయేలీయులు ఇశ్రాయేలీయుల గోత్రములన్నిటిలో మిస్పాలో యెహోవా పక్షమున రాకపోయినవారెవరని విచారించిరి. ఏలయనగా అట్టివారికి నిశ్చయముగా మరణశిక్ష విధింపవలెనని ఖండితముగా ప్రమాణము చేసియుండిరి.

ಆದರೆ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್ ಮಕ್ಕಳು--ಕರ್ತನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಸಭೆಯೊಂದಿಗೆ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿನ ಸಮಸ್ತ ಗೋತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ ಬಾರದವರು ಯಾರು ಅಂದರು. ಯಾಕಂದರೆ ಕರ್ತನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಮಿಚ್ಪೆಗೆ ಬಾರದವನು ಖಂಡಿತವಾಗಿ ಸಾಯಬೇಕೆಂದು ದೊಡ್ಡ ಆಣೆಇಟ್ಟುಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದರು.
