వీరు మీకా యింటికిపోయి చెక్క బడిన ప్రతిమను ఏఫోదును గృహదేవతలను పోతవిగ్రహమును పట్టుకొనినప్పుడు ఆ యాజకుడు మీరేమి చేయుచున్నారని వారినడుగగా

അവര്‍ അവനോടുമിണ്ടരുതു; നിന്റെ വായ് പൊത്തി ഞങ്ങളോടു കൂടെ വന്നു ഞങ്ങള്‍ക്കു പിതാവും പുരോഹിതനുമായിരിക്ക; ഒരുവന്റെ വീട്ടിന്നു മാത്രം പുരോഹിതനായിരിക്കുന്നതോ യിസ്രായേലില്‍ ഒരു ഗോത്രത്തിന്നും കുലത്തിന്നും പുരോഹിതനായിരിക്കുന്നതോ ഏതു നിനക്കു നല്ലതു എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.

ಅವರು ವಿಾಕನ ಮನಗೆ ಬಂದು ಏಫೋದನ್ನೂ ಪ್ರತಿಮೆಗಳನ್ನೂ ಕೆತ್ತಿದ ವಿಗ್ರಹವನ್ನೂ ಎರಕದ ವಿಗ್ರಹ ವನ್ನೂ ತಕ್ಕೊಂಡಾಗ ಯಾಜಕನು ಅವರಿಗೆ--ನೀವು ಏನು ಮಾಡುತ್ತೀರಿ ಅಂದನು.
