ప్రొద్దు గ్రుంక నారంభించినప్పుడు పండ్రెండుగురు శిష్యులు వచ్చి మనమీ అరణ్యములో ఉన్నాము గనుక చుట్టుపట్లనున్న గ్రామములకును పల్లెలకును వెళ్లి బసచూచుకొని, ఆహారము సంపాదించుకొనునట్లు జనసమూహ మును పంపివేయుమని ఆయనతో చెప్పిరి.

ಸಂಜೆಯಾಗು ತ್ತಿದ್ದಾಗ ಹನ್ನೆರಡು ಮಂದಿ ಬಂದು ಆತನಿಗೆ--ಈ ಜನಸಮೂಹವು ಸುತ್ತಲಿರುವ ಊರುಗಳಿಗೂ ಸೀಮೆಗಳಿಗೂ ಹೋಗಿ ಇಳುಕೊಂಡು ಆಹಾರವನ್ನು ದೊರಕಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವಂತೆ ಅವರನ್ನು ಕಳುಹಿಸಿಬಿಡು; ಯಾಕಂದರೆ ನಾವು ಇಲ್ಲಿ ಅರಣ್ಯ ಸ್ಥಳದಲ್ಲಿ ಇದ್ದೇವಲ್ಲಾ ಅಂದರು.
